Mumbai: Mumbai today witnessed a thunderstorm that almost swept away the home side at the Brabourne Stadium. Yusuf Pathan motored away to a sensational 100 off a mere 37 balls – the fastest IPL century – and one that landed itself in the T20 record books.

The Rajasthan Royals looked like a beaten side in their chase against the mighty Mumbai Indians when Yusuf Pathan came to the crease. And voila, the script changed. Yusuf Pathan doesn’t understand the meaning of surrendering meekly. He was his usual cavalier self hitting sixes and fours in a belligerent fashion. It was Yusuf all the way for a while for the Rajasthan Royals. The older Pathan hit an unbelievable eight sixes and nine boundaries to score his hundred. He managed to better the record set by Deccan Chargers Adam Gilchrist who scored a ton off 42 balls against the same opposition at the DY Patil Stadium in the inaugural season of IPL.
