Toss Report: DC vs KXIP

Toss Report: DC vs KXIP

Cuttack: Kumar Sangakkara, captain of the visiting Kings XI Punjab, has won the toss and elected to field first on a wicket that he didn’t know enough about to make a prediction.

Sangakkara however said that the pitch was a nice and even one. “The morale of everyone in the dressing room is very high despite the two back to back defeats,” he added. Exuding confidence, Sanga asserted that it was too soon to panic. He said, “There are many games to play and we need to be more consistent. We need to improve in all areas. Yeah, the Deccan Chargers have a very good team, and they’re all very good cricketers. We need to get a move on and we hope to play well.”

Captain of Deccan Chargers, Adam Gilchrist, who is playing host at Cuttack said, “The pitch looks like a firm, hard wicket. [Pragyan] Ojha is a local boy, so he knows the place well.”

Commenting on the break the team has had, Gilchrist said, “The four days off we’ve had have left us refreshed as there’s been a lot of travel involved. Yeah, we’ve never beaten Kings XI Punjab, but it’s in the back of our mind, so we aren’t going to think about it too much.” He added, “It’s always the case of beware the wounded team, and the tournament is still in its early stages, so we hope to do well against them.”
