Toss Report: RR vs DC

Ahmedabad: In the battle of the Australian tacticians, Adam Gilchrist got off to a good start by winning the coin toss and deciding to bat first on a grassy track at Motera.

The captain of the Deccan Chargers described the pitch as having some sort of grass coverage with patchy bits of soil. A visibly relaxed Gilly said, “It’s been a busy tournament, but not too hectic for us. We are quite refreshed with four days off.”

Talking about the team composition he said, “I am happy with everyone going well.” He added that a fit VVS Laxman was back in the playing XI in place of Monish Mishra.

Shane Warne echoed his opponent’s opinion about the pitch, stating that it had a bit of grass. “It’s a really good wicket, but would be tough for bowlers,” he said. Adding that he’d have chosen to bat first too, Warnie said a total of around 160-165 can be chased down.

Talking about playing in Ahmedabad the skipper of the Rajasthan Royals said, “When we are playing at home we want to make it a fortress. We want to make it uncomfortable for the visitors. Our boys are ready to go. We want to maintain the winning record.”
