Man-of-the-Match: Sachin Tendulkar for his scintillating 72 off 52 balls

MVP of the match: Suresh Raina for a fantastic 83*

What’d he do?: Played a stunning innings of 83* off 52 balls to take his team to 180. After they lost early wickets Raina, he played himself in before breaking the shackles in the end.

Turning point: The introduction of Thissara Perera. The young man failed to rise to the occasion and leaked 19 runs off his only over shifting the momentum towards the MI side.

Dot-ball hero: Ryan McLaren was the pick of the MI bowlers bowling 15 dot balls of which five were yorkers.

Longest hit : Murali vs Sachin, Sachin wins it with a 85 m hit over long on for the 200th six of IPL 2010.

Innovative short of the day: A gentle flick by the powerful Pollard saw a Muralidaran ball sail over the boundary for six.

Captain vs. Captain: MS Dhoni, back as captain of CSK after an injury kept him out for three matches, did not get to bat. His deputy, Suresh Raina, who was off the burden of captaincy, went out and played a superb knock.

Sachin Tendulkar played the anchor’s role taking the backseat when Shikhar Dhawan was going great guns and later used his experience to play the finisher’s role to perfection.

Moment of the day: Power versus brilliance. Pollard hit Muralidaran for a great flick off the wrist six and Murali returned the favour by getting him out off a doosra by the craftsman.
