Toss Report: DC vs MI

Navi Mumbai: Adam Gilchrist has won the toss and elected to field first on a bouncy track at DY Patil in Navi Mumbai.

The Deccan Chargers captain said he took the decision to field because he felt that the wicket had a tinge of softness to it. “Get in there and limit them,” was his philosophy. The team will have a completely new look with VVS Laxman, Chaminda Vaas and Rahul Sharma making way for Monish Mishra, Jaskarandeep Singh and West Indian pacer Kemar Roach.

Talking about the wicket, Sachin Tendulkar felt it looked good to bat on. “It’s my first time here so I don’t know much about it,” he said. “We will just see how the ball is coming on to the bat and take it from there,” he told Sunil Gavaskar. Tendulkar added that he's feeling very good about his batting, waking up every morning raring to go.

MI wicket-keeper Aditya Tare has been left out and Ambati Rayudu returns to the playing XI from injury.
